CONFIDENTIALITY OF EXAM/TEST CONTENT
- The exam content is the unpublished, confidential, and proprietary materials of New Mexico Tech faculty/staff.
- Communicating, publishing, reproducing, or transmitting any part of an exam, in any form or by any means (e.g. verbal, electronic, written, etc for any purpose is strictly prohibited.
- ANY reproduction, disclosure, or cheating will result in student misconduct and dishonesty violation charges brought against you and anyone directing or conspiring with you.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURES, BREAKS, AND CONTACTING PROFESSORS
- Exam/Test must be scheduled at least 48 hours before testing time.
- Exam/Test request form completed by student and professor must be received at SAS at least 48 hours before testing time.
- The student must arrive on time. Arriving 15 minutes past scheduled exam time may disqualify the student from taking the exam. The student will arrange alternative testing with their professor. The student may call 575-835-6209 if running late.
- Access to your personal items: backpack, purse, cell phone, and notes are not permitted during testing. All candidates must inform the ODS regarding the need to access an item during the test, including medicine. Repeated or lengthy departures from the test room will be reported to the student's department and professor.
- Professors who have left their phone numbers on the exam request form may be called by a SAS staff member at the request of the student. SAS staff is not responsible for calls that cannot be completed or for the professor not responding in a timely manner.
- ONLINE EXAMS
- SAS will send the student a meeting invite at least 30 minutes prior to the test.
- Entering the online platform - the student is required to have the microphone and camera on at all times during the test.
- The student will show the entire testing area - the floor, the walls, the ceiling, the computer screen, the desk area, and any materials that are allowed by the instructor as stated on the exam request form. SAS staff may request to see your screen anytime during the test.
- The student will share their computer screen at all times during the test unless otherwise instructed by SAS staff.
- Internet access issues will be relayed to the instructor for their determination on how the test should proceed.
- Unauthorized persons are not allowed in the proximity of the student during testing.
- Before leaving the online meeting, the student will email the instructor and SAS with the completed test. This is to keep the integrity of the test and the time of completion on file. If the test is on canvas and can not be sent via email, a screenshot of the uploaded tests will be emailed to the instructor and SAS.
- IN-PERSON EXAMS
PROHIBITED ITEMS AND EXAMINEE CONDUCT IN THE TEST CENTER
- Written notes, published materials and other testing aids are strictly prohibited during the test, except where allowed by the professor. SAS staff will refer to the Exam request form submitted by the testing professor.
- Written notes or unauthorized electronic devices discovered in the test area will be confiscated by SAS staff and reported to the professor.
- Only soft earplugs (with no wires/cords attached) and noise-canceling headphones with no connections are permitted. Or center-supplied headphones if in person.
- Light clothing items removed for comfort such as sweaters, suit jackets, scarves, etc., must be hung on the examinee's chair, not placed in laps or on the workstation desktop.
- Talking to other people during the test, looking at written notes or other materials is strictly prohibited.
