    Swim Activities/Summer Camp/Field Trips/Bus Transportation
  • Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to participate in Western Christian Schools Summer Camp, including swim Activities, field trips, and/or bus transportation (hereinafter called “The Activity”), scheduled to take place between June 10 and August 12, 2026, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives or assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue “Western Christian Schools”, its officers, employees, and agents from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of WESTERN CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS, its officers, employees and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in The Activity.

Assumption of Risks: I acknowledge and understand that participation in program activities—including but not limited to swimming, field trips, bus transportation, and general summer camp activities—carries certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the precautions taken. These risks include, but are not limited to:

    Swimming Activities:
Risks such as slips or falls on wet surfaces; collisions with other swimmers or pool structures; minor injuries including scrapes or bruises; muscle cramps or fatigue; accidental water ingestion; eye or ear irritation; exposure to pool chemicals; sun exposure; and serious risks such as difficulty swimming, near‑drowning, or drowning.

    Summer Camp Activities:
Risks associated with participation in recreational or physical activities including bumps, bruises, sprains, strains, or insect bites; injuries related to sports, games, or equipment use; dehydration or heat‑related illness; allergic reactions to food, plants, insects, or environmental factors; major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, heart attaches, and concussions; and emotional or social stress from group participation.

    Field Trips:
Risks such as slips, trips, or falls on uneven terrain; exposure to outdoor elements including heat, cold, wind, insects, or sun; potential contact with animals, plants, or environmental allergens; becoming temporarily separated from the group; loss of personal items; and hazards specific to the field trip destination.

    Bus Transportation:
Risks related to travel including sudden stops, sharp turns, or movement of the vehicle that may cause falls or jostling; slips or trips while boarding or exiting; motor vehicle accidents; delays or detours; motion sickness; and exposure to weather conditions while waiting for transportation.

I have read the previous paragraphs, and I know, understand, and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in The Activity. I hereby assert that my/my child’s participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD “Western Christian Schools” HARMLESS from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expense, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in The Activity and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver and assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

Acknowledgement of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

  • Cell Phone/Electronic Device Policy

Phones and Smart Watches are not allowed on campus. If they are brought on campus, they must remain in camper’s backpack, not in their pockets. Campers may not have their cell phone/electronic device out, visible, or audible for calls, texts, or web data. The only exception to this rule is during field trips.  While we are on fieldtrips, students may have their cell phone with them. While we are on the bus, all cell phones and/or smart watches must be put away. Failure to comply with cell phone and/or electronic device policy will have device removed and held until time of pickup. Any future electronic privilege will be revoked.
