JHS Short-term Military Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society. We are currently offering the volunteer opportunities listed below for active duty military personnel who are unable to commit to the minimum 12 week obligation required of new, permanent JHS volunteers.

Certain volunteer opportunities change on a monthly basis. If you do not see an opportunity you are interested in or cannot commit to due to scheduling issues, please check back at a later date.

Here's how it works:

1. If you have not already, watch the Volunteer Information Session.

2. Sign up using the form below.

3. You will be contacted within 2 business days regarding your application.

Please note:

• This volunteer opportunity is for those aged 18 years or more and out of high school. High school students must apply through our youth program.
• Court ordered or attorney advised community service cannot be completed through this program.

Please choose a volunteer opportunity for the specific date below that you are interested in supporting. We will then contact you with more information on the meeting time and location for each event. Closed toe shoes and masks are required.

Please note, you may sign up for multiple volunteer shifts, if you are interested in supporting more than one volunteer opportunity. However, please only commit to those shifts you are sure you will be able to support. If you are unable to attend a shift, please notify the JHS staff via email at volunteer@jaxhumane.org as soon as possible. 

If none of the dates below work for your schedule or you are unable to meet the commitment at this time, please check back at a later date. Volunteer opportunities and dates are updated on a regular basis. Shelter needs may vary over the next few months.
