2022 PRESENTER AGREEMENT
If my session is accepted, I agree to the following:
I agree to attend and present at the 70th annual Utah State Historical Society conference Water at the Confluence of Past & Future, which will be held in person on October 27, 2022 at the Provo Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, 101 West 100 North, Provo, Utah.
I agree to register at https://history.utah.gov/ushs-conference. All panelists or session presenters must register. Registration will begin June 1, 2022.
I am submitting an abstract of my panel or session proposal (500 words max), which may be published on the conference program and/or the Division of State History's website.
I am submitting a bio (100 words max), which may be published on the conference program and/or Division's website. In addition to a short bio, all panelists or session presenters must submit a CV or professional resume.
I am submitting a description of how my session will impact attendees (100 words max).
I agree to present and/or record at the assigned TIME. A/V needs will be determined at a later date as we expolore virtual options for sessions. The Division will make every effort to accommodate additional A/V requests, but some equipment may not be available.)
I agree to stay within my allotted time limit for the session as determined by the chairperson or moderator of the session. I understand that if I go beyond my allotted minutes, I am taking time from other participants, the commentator, and the audience.
I agree to have my session audio (or video) recorded. I give permission to the Utah State Historical Society, if it chooses, to produce electronic copies in whole or in part and in any media deemed fit for inclusion on the Division’s website.
I give my permission for photos and video to be taken of me and/or my session participants during the conference. These images and my likeness, name and biographical information may be used for current and future conference publicity and marketing purposes.
If arranged, I am willing to be interviewed by the media and other sources prior to the conference.
In making my presentation, I recognize that I, along with panel or session presenters, are not acting as an employee, agent or spokesperson for the Utah Division of State History, the Utah State Historical Society, or the State of Utah. I am also aware that State History is a state agency that relies on the support of the Utah legislature and the Office of the Governor. I hereby affirm that none of the material presented in my presentation infringes on any person's copyright or right of privacy, and further, I will not libel or slander any other person, facility, product, company, or service during my presentation. If such affirmation is breached, I will indemnify and hold harmless State History, its officers, board of directors, and members. I affirm that the work I shall present at the conference is based on defensible research and appropriate professional methodology with carefully referenced and cited works. I further agree that during my attendance at the conference, my conduct will conform to the highest standards of ethical and professional deportment and courtesy.
