OPC Foundation Scholarship Program
For over 50 years, the Omaha Press Club and Omaha Press Club Foundation have awarded journalism scholarships to the most deserving students at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The awards:
CoJMC faculty will award seven $2,500 scholarships to students majoring in journalism, broadcasting, advertising & public relations and sports media & communication. The college will also nominate two students to compete amongst chosen candidates at Creighton and UNO for additional scholarships worth $1,500 and $2,500. Selected students will be required to attend the OPC Scholarship brunch in Omaha on Saturday, April 25. More details on the brunch will be shared with the winners. The winners will be notified by March 27.
Eligibility:
Students must be entering the fall 2026 semester with at least junior standing, completing at least two years of campus study, and having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students should have demonstrated promise through publication or airing of work at campus newspapers or broadcast outlets and/or internships or experience in professional organizations. Activity in campus chapters of professional organizations is also encouraged.
