  • Program Info:

    One program is considered an average classroom size (~30 students) with max 3 programs/day. If a request is made to have different virtual programs in one day, there will be a mandatory break between programs for set-up. Programming requires a dedicated space appropriate for the size of your group. Some programs may require additional requirements such as a space with a projector, the ability to print resources for students, a table, and more. These requirements will be communicated at the time of booking. 

    Outreach (in-person) Costs: 1 program - $135; 2 programs - $200; 3 programs - $275; extra fees apply for locations 26+ miles in one direction with a max ~75 mile driving distance or ~1.5 hr. driving time (prices below)

    Virtual Costs: 1 program - $75; 2 programs - $140; 3 programs - $195

    Title 1 school programming: no charge for up to 3 programs per school per semester

                                            Alive or Not? (K-1st)How do we determine if something is alive or not? Participants will interact with bio-facts and ambassador animals in search of evidence of feeding, breathing, movement, reaction to the environment, and reproduction to determine if something is alive or not.

                                            Animal Encounter (All Audiences)Participants will observe and interact with 3 ambassador animals and corresponding biofacts while learning about their amazing adaptations and habitats. *touch experiences are not guaranteed as they are reliant on animal ambassador protocols, animal behavior, and CDC recommendations*

                                            Food Webs (3rd-8th)Who is eating who and why is that important? Participants will play a food web game that explores trophic levels and how they can be broken or changed over time.

                                            Life Cycles (1st-2nd)Are all seeds distributed the same? Do all animal offspring look like the adults? Participants will explore multiple life cycles seen through plants, insects, and amphibians and meet some of our young and adult ambassador animals.

                                            Name Game (2nd-8th)How do scientists decide what group an animal belongs to and what tools do they use? Participants will use an animal's physical adaptations to classify them while utilizing dichotomous keys. Then using their new knowledge they will identify one of our ambassador animals! (6th-8th will build cladograms)

                                            Owl Discovery (6th-8th)Participants will engage in a hands-on owl pellet dissection, uncover its fascinating contents to learn about food chains, ecosystems, and animal anatomy! Middle school groups will discuss how scientists use pellets as evidence for animal and ecosystem health.

                                            Race for the Laurel Dace (6th-12th) Discover how the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute (TNACI) is saving an endangered species and how responsible land management can protect this fish and surrounding biodiversity.

                                            Shaping Our Oceans (All Audiences)Join us as we explore different levels of life within our oceans and our connections with the Gulf of Mexico. Participants will discover how we affect our oceans while living hundreds of miles from the coast and will meet some of our animal ambassadors along the way! *This program is NOT available to book on Wednesdays*
