The training staff and I are so excited that you have heard a call to participate in the Art of Holy Listening, a spiritual direction training program hosted by Center for Sacred Space, with Dr. Heidi Miller as faculty. Training will begin on Septemper 16, 2026 and will conclude on April 19-22, 2028.

The training Location TBA. You will have a private room and bathroom  

Your application and non-refundable registration fee of $75.00 are due by July 31, 2026. Space is limited to 35 participants.

In a posture of prayer, please write an essay about your spiritual journey. The following questions might guide you in writing your spiritual journey: 

1. Why are you seeking certification in spiritual direction?

2. How would you describe your relationship with the Holy?

3. What life experiences have brought you to this point in your spiritual journey?

4. What programs, retreats, conferences, or formational opportunities have been impactful in your spiritual journey? 

5. How have you volunteered or been in leadership in your faith community, and how has this impacted your spiritual journey?

 

In order to build community and provide safe, sacred space in which to learn the Art of Holy Listening, I commit to offer my prayers, my presence and my energy as follows:

Prayers: I commit to hold all participants and training staff in prayer.

Presence: I commit to being present for all training Gatherings as well as all components of each Gathering. Missing more that one gathering will result in a certification of participation vs. certification of completion.

Energy: I commit to give my full attenion and energy to the following:

*Attend to my own rhythm and rule of life

*Be in spiritual direction regularly, once every 4-8 weeks (We will help you find a spiritual director if you do not already have one.)

*Complete the readings as assigned for each training Gathering

*Participate in worship

*Complete all assigned practicum work 

*Make tuition payments on time

If I am unable to uphold any of these commitments, I commit to communicating with the director and my small group supervisor to find a suitable resolution.

If I am unable to attend a training Gathering, I commit to contacting the Director or Administrator as soon as possible. If I provide less than 24 days prior notice, I commit to paying the total tuition for that training Gathering.
