2. Participate in a WHS meeting
You are required to participate in a group WHS meeting to discuss emergency procedures and responses. Your assessor, in the role of your supervisor, will run the WHS meeting to outline general WHS considerations, discuss and demonstrate potential emergency situations that may occur and to remind everyone of the procedures to follow.
During the meeting, you are required to show full participation including:
- A discussion of general WHS considerations using the Discussion Template provided.
- Talking about the situations that might occur and asking any questions that you think may be relevant to the situation from your perspective.
- A demonstration that you know where the procedures are located and how to follow them in the event of an emergency.
3. Emergency response simulation
After you have participated in the WHS meeting, you are required to enact an emergency response to a potential emergency as and when advised by your assessor. You are required to demonstrate that you can:
- Recognise and respond appropriately to the situation.
- Follow the security and emergency procedures relevant.
- Seek assistance from the correct person/people.
4. Team debrief and incident report
You will now debrief after the simulation to discuss the event and your response
and will then complete an individual incident report as though the simulation were
real.
Participate in the group discussion about the following:
- What went right and what could have been done better/quicker or different
next time?
- How did you feel during the simulation and how has this prepared you in case
of a real event?
- What are your key takeaways from your participation in the simulation?
Use the incident report template below to complete the details of the incident and submit to your assessor.
