About the Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA)
The Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established in 2004. RTA operates under the guidance of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and in conjunction with the North Carolina Tennis Association (NCTA) with the goal to connect every player or prospective player with opportunities to participate in tennis through programming, collaboration, funding, diversity & inclusion, outreach, and advocacy.
National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL)
The Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA) is an approved NC NJTL Chapter and supported by the USTA Foundation. The purpose of the NJTL Network is to provide free or low cost tennis instruction and academic programming to need-based youth. RTA’s mission is to grow and develop underserved youth through tennis and education In many cases, our programming offers youth their first exposure to tennis and provides additional opportunities for life-long learning through clinics, after school programming, camps, tournaments, and supplemental academic coursework.
Cy King Community Tennis Fund
The Cy King Community Tennis Fund was created by the Raleigh Tennis Association to honor Cy King. The Fund provides financial assistance to
junior players from under-resourced communities enabling them to participate in clinics, camps, private lessons, and tournaments. The fund’s Advisory Board and the Raleigh Tennis Association will work with other organizations such as USTA NC, NC Tennis Foundation, other NJTL programs, and the City of Raleigh Parks & Recreation Department to identify qualified junior players who want to advance their abilities and either supplement the support provided by these organizations and/or provide direct support to players and families.
