The Domestic Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) Regulations set a minimum energy efficiency level for domestic private rented properties. The Regulations apply to all domestic private rented properties.
They are legally required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which has been assessed within the last 10 years and has an EPC rating of A to E or has a registered exemption if the EPC rating is F or G.
West Devon Borough Council (WDBC) / South Hams District Council (SHDC) has an obligation to check whether private rental properties meet this standard, and if not, offer advice and support to enable the landlord to comply with the regulations.
We would be grateful if you could complete this short survey and help us check if your home is a private rental, who the landlord is and whether you/your landlord require support.
Your Privacy
We'll only use your information for the purposes of meeting WDBC/SHDC’s responsibility under the MEES regulations and to enable WDBC, SHDC, Tamar Energy Community and South Dartmoor Community Energy to support you with requested energy advice; and support to achieve MEES compliance and/or general energy advice and home improvement support.
Information relating to private rental properties, their landlords and landlords managing agents will also be retained within a database enabling improved ongoing management of the private rental housing stock across West Devon and South Hams.
Tenants details will not be retained except where support has been requested for energy advice and support.
