  • ALL ABOUT MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE (MPC)

COOS MPC is primarily for couples who are members of COOS. This course is designed for couples planning to get married and would like to learn more about biblical principles in a Christian marriage. Couples are advised to refrain from making wedding plans until completion of their MPC. Due to limited capacity, priority is for COOS couples.

    WHAT IS MPC?

MPC aims to lay Biblical foundations for marriage by helping couples move toward a marriage that honours God and each other.

    Topics covered include:

    • Foundations of Christian Marriage
    • Roles, Responsibilities & Decision Making
    • Communication and Conflicts
    • Managing Finances
    • Sex, Marriage & Children
    • Spiritual Life and In-Laws
    • Prepare/Enrich Assessment

The coursework consists of 7 group sessions of about 3 hours each as well as 1-on-1 meeting with the couple facilitators, the FLM pastor and/or the Inner Healing & Deliverance (IHD) Ministry.

Upon completion of all sessions, a Letter of Completion will be issued and the couple's Zone Pastor/Ministry Pastor will be notified.

    WHY MPC

MPC equips couples with a biblical & realistic perception of marriage and provides a platform to address potential issues and a space to work out  differences.  It serves as a prelude to an enriching, fulfilling, and growing marriage.

Couples are strongly encouraged to only commence their wedding arrangements after completion of the coursework.

    NOTE TO COUPLE

    1. You will receive an acknowledgment email for your MPC registration within two weeks. If not, please contact the FLM Ministry at 68850700 or email familylife@coos.org.sg.

    2. It is a sin for courting couple to engage in pre-marital sex. In order to prepare for God’s blessings, the couple should confess, repent and discontinue such acts including foreplay or petting until their wedding has been solemnised in Church.

“There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.” There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modelled love, for “becoming one” with another. Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.” 1 Cor 6:16-20 (The Message)
  • Please read through and have your baptism date ready before proceeding.

    1. Please allow for at least 12-15 months prior to your intended date of wedding ceremony or when you are ready for marriage (whichever is earlier).
