The Hanover Improvement Society is embarking on a $5 million Capital Campaign that will allow us to upgrade and expand the James C. Campion Ice Rink, which opened in February of 1988. Since then thousands of youngsters (and oldsters) have called this facility “home ice” for the numerous activities in which they have participated. As you can imagine, the wear and tear of almost constant use has taken its toll.
Our campaign: “Become a Campion Champion” targets the following areas for improvements:
*Locker rooms: adding two new locker rooms and updating/expanding the four we now have.
*Changing room: add a new changing room to accommodate gender mixed teams and families.
*Referee room: create a new space for officials and move them out of the employee bathroom.
*Lobby: improve and expand the heated sitting area and upgrade and enlarge the two public bathrooms.
*Multi-purpose room: add a large meeting room that can be used for a variety of activities.
Additional physical plant improvements:
*Address all building-wide ADA compliance issues.
*Increase building insulation.
*Add a dehumidification system.
*Replace the rink base including new pipes in a new concrete slab and a new refrigeration system.
*New dasher boards and glass.
