    In our desire to reduce the risk of abuse within our camp ministries, we believe this information is necessary to protect our children, our youth and our personnel and to effectively place our personnel in appropriate positions. Our adult volunteers are required to submit a Criminal Record Check (valid for 3 years) and to complete Plan to Protect abuse prevention online training if they have not already done so.   • Personal Information

    Information received is confidential and is being gathered for the purposes of considering your application to volunteer with SBCC and determining for which camp programs you may be best suited.
  • When are you available to volunteer?

  • Volunteer Reimbursement

    For each day parents or guardians volunteer as adult supervisors, they will be reimbursed $10.00 of their child's camp fee. Volunteer one day: $10.00 reimbursement, two days: $20.00, to a maximum of five days: $50.00 per volunteer. Criminal record check and Plan to Protect training is required.
  • Please reimburse $10.00 to      for the volunteered days indicated above.

    Reimbursements will be distributed after camp is completed. Please contact Delsa at (639)840-0008 for information.

  • I will be willing to help in the following positions:

    • Supervise campers at Father Gorman Community School as they wait for the bus to arrive
    • Obtain signatures from parent/guardian/alternate pick-up prior to campers exiting the bus at the end of the day
    • Waits until all campers have been safely picked up at the end of the day
    • Greets the campers every morning and takes attendance as they get on the bus
    • Supervises and ensures the safety of all campers from Lloydminster to camp and back while travelling on the bus
    • Waits on the bus until all campers have been picked up at the end of the day
    • Ensures that all program personnel and all visitors sign-in upon arrival and sign-out at departure
    • Ensures that all adult volunteers and visitors receive their identification tags
    • The kitchen supervisor opens and stocks the kitchen for the camp season.  We follow a set daily menu for noon lunch and morning and afternoon snacks.
    • Adult volunteers assist the kitchen supervisor with the meal and snack preparation and service.
    • Day help shift is 9:00-2:00
    • Lunch service and dishwasher shift is 11:45-2:00
    • Administer first aid when needed
    • Administer medications as per medical authorization forms if needed

     

    • Ensures that the ratio of 2 screened adults for every 15 children is maintained
    • Ensures the safety of all participants during activities
    • Remains with one group of campers/counsellors throughout the day's activities
    • The primary canoeing supervisor instructs and ensures safety of canoeing activities.  Accompanies campers/counsellors on the water.
    • Adult volunteer on shore assists primary canoeing supervisor.  Stays on shore in case of emergency
    • The craft supervisor plans crafts, prepares materials and instructs campers/counselors in craft activities
    • Adult volunteer assists the craft supervisor 
    • Photographs activities taking place at camp
  • BACKGROUND

    In order to provide a safe and secure environment for our children and youth, we believe it is necessary to ask the following questions as part of our application process. All information will be kept in confidence by SBCC and will not be disclosed unless required by law.  Answering ‘yes’ to any of the following questions may not necessarily prevent you from volunteering. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  • References

    Please provide the names of two individuals, excluding relatives, who could provide a reference for you. Include at least one reference from outside SBCC. 

  • Release of Information and Declaration of Intent

    I hereby give SBCC permission to contact persons named by me above as references to gather information in order for SBCC to decide whether I am suitable for camp volunteering.

     I hereby give SBCC consent to verify the information provided by me in this Adult Volunteer Application Form and to contact the references to obtain and verify any information from them (and any other persons that SBCC determines might be able to provide relevant information) that may be relevant to my application.

     I will provide SBCC with my Criminal Record Check (current within the last 4 years), and I will sign and return the attached “Release of Information and Declaration of Intent” for such purpose.

     I further grant SBCC permission to perform an internet search on me and to review and consider any information found about me on the Internet.

     I understand that if SBCC approves my volunteer application and later determines, in its discretion, at any time that I am not suitable for service in SBCC or for the position for which I am applying, SBCC may terminate my service/position for any reason without advance notice.

     If SBCC approves my application for an adult volunteer position, I will sign any documents that SBCC requires and will at all times cooperate fully with the program personnel of SBCC in the fulfillment of my duties and will keep all confidential information I encounter in my role as an adult volunteer, confidential.

    If at any time, I determine that for any reason I am unable to support or adhere to or follow the policies, procedures or doctrine of SBCC, I will inform SBCC and will resign my position.

    I hereby acknowledge that, to the best of my knowledge, the information contained in this Adult Volunteer Application Form is true and correct.

  • Confidentiality Statement

    I understand that I will obtain or have access to sensitive and confidential information in my role as an [employee / Volunteer] with SBCC. That confidential information may include, without restriction, personal information regarding paid personnel, volunteers, members, attendees, supporters or persons participating in the SBCC camp program including information relating to donations, personal or family matters, or obtained from background screening of prospective program personnel.; I agree to maintain strict confidentiality of all such confidential information and I will not disclose such information to anyone (including to paid personnel, volunteers, members, attendees, supporters, persons participating in the SBCC camp program, or my spouse or family members) except authorized representatives of SBCC who need to know such information or as required by law. I understand and agree that confidentiality is very important in my role and critical to the effective functioning of camp. If I become aware that any confidential information was improperly disclosed, I will immediately advise the Director of Camp Operations.

  • Confirmation BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.
