Chunky Move x WAG

Victorian Regional Artist Residency
The residency period commences at Warrnambool Art Gallery (WAG) from 23 June – 3 July 2022 and continues at Chunky Move from 4 July – 8 July 2022. Please note, these dates are non-negotiable.

Warrnambool Art Gallery will provide:
- $1,500 contribution to artist fee
- Accommodation in Warrnambool 22 June – 3 July
- Travel reimbursement (Melbourne – Warrnambool)
- Daily per diems 23 June – 3 July.
- Exclusive studio space for the dates of the residency period
Chunky Move will provide:
- $3,000 contribution to artist fee
- $500 materials budget
- In-kind studio space at Chunky Move studios for 5 days
If the selected artist does not permanently reside in Melbourne, Chunky Move will additionally provide:
- Daily per diems (LPA Award) 4 July – 8 July
- Travel reimbursement from the artists home to Melbourne
- 6 nights accommodation in Melbourne from 3 July – 8 July.
Artists will be required to provide their own personal accident and injury insurance.
WHO CAN APPLY
The Chunky Move x WAG Victorian Regional Artist Residency is open to individual artists with a demonstrated commitment to choreographic research or performance practice. Artists must be based in Victoria and have a minimum of 3 years professional experience.

The artist will have separate agreements with WAG and Chunky Move for their respective time periods at each location.

The artist will be required to engage in a minimum of one community event at WAG, to be negotiated.

The artist will be invited (not compulsory) to close the 2022 residency period with a sharing at Chunky Move.

Applications open Monday 28 February and must be received no later than 5pm, Monday 14 March. Applicants will be notified of an outcome the week commencing 11 April.

Applications will be reviewed by Chunky Move Artistic Director, Antony Hamilton, Warrnambool Art Gallery Curator, Aaron Bradbrook and guest peer assessor, Amrita Hepi.
