GAC 2022 Fish Camp

Thank you for your interest in the 2022 Greater Alabama Council Fish Camp! Headed up by three BSA Certified Angling Instructors, this weekend-long program focuses on preparing Unit Leaders to develop and implement fishing and angling programs within their Packs, Troops, and Crews.

Scouts BSA members, ages 11 and up, will have the chance to not only participate in these informative class sessions, but will also be able to make real progress towards earning the BSA's Complete Angler Award. Scouts will also have the chance to earn the Fishing, Fly Fishing, and Fish & Wildlife Management Merit Badges at this event.

All participants will have the chance to fish beautiful Lake Cross in the afternoon, and canoes will be available for use for those who wish to use them to enhance their fishing experience.

Participants also have the option to purchase a long-sleeved fishing t-shirt featuring the brand new Greater Alabama Council Fishing and Angling Program Logo! These stylish shirts come in "atomic blue", made of light-weight materials, and are excellent for days on the lake or river. Pricing ranges from $15-$20 depending on size selection.

All participants need to bring with them:

Personal fishing gear (rods, reels, tools, etc.)*

*Participants have the option to order a fishing kit and have it waiting on them at Camp. Participants can choose between a bait casting/spincasting kit (depends on product availability). Or, participants can select a fly fishing kit if they wish.
