Taking care of your instrument:
Loosen your bow before putting it away by loosening the little screw (2-3 turns anti-clockwise) at the lower end of the bow.
After playing, carefully wipe excess rosin off strings and the violin with a soft cloth.
Store at room temperature (violins can melt if left in a hot car boot!)
Try not to bump the violin or cello even when in its case as this can dislodge the soundpost or tuning pegs. Please do not leave your instrument on the floor as someone may step on it accidentally!

$110 refundable deposit on cellos, violins and keyboards
Accidents / Breakages:
Strings: If a string breaks, the first string will be replaced at no cost, but after that, $10 per string will be charged.
Bows: Losing a few hairs now and then from the bow is quite normal
Tapping the bow on a surface of leaning on it will cause it to snap and will require replacement.
Please note that accidents do happen, and we understand that sometimes breakages or damages may occur. However, we kindly ask that you take responsibility for the instrument while it is in your child’s possession and report any damage or breakage to us immediately. We reserve the right to charge for any damages caused to the instrument.
If major damage to an instrument occurs, then depending on whether it can be fixed, the instrument may need to be replaced at $200 per violin or $6-700 per cello.
I have read and agree to the above.
