An Applicant Questionnaire for Sweet T Labs
  • Dogs/Puppies are a member of the family, and owning a dog is a lifetime commitment that should not be taken lightly. For that reason, we would like to get to know you so we can see if we are the best family breeder for you. Completing the following application allows us to do just that, and also allows us to know exactly what you are looking for so we can better assist with the best pup for you and your family!

The next question asks about limited or full registration. Many of the people interested in our pups do not know the difference between these two registration types. Hopefully, the following information will help if you are unfamiliar with AKC Registration.

Full Registration: Full registration is only needed if you are planning to breed the puppy when it gets older, or if you are planning to be entered into the Conformation Showing Ring. If neither of these scenarios apply to your interests/plans, then you do not need a dog with full registration.

Limited Registration: Limited registration is what we currently offer. When choosing this option, your puppy is registered with the AKC, but you will not be able to register the puppy's offspring with the AKC. 95% of the people who contact us wanting a puppy choose limited registration.

    • Please tell us about where your puppy will be living. We know things change and people move over time but tell us about your current living situation.

    • What to expect
    • Completing this application is a step in the process of acquiring a puppy from Sweet T Labs, but it does not guarantee you will get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.  APPROVAL AND PAYMENT: We will review applications within 2 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your application indicates that you may be a good fit, we will notify you. We breed on a scheduled cycle, so we will only accept payments when puppies are expected or actually available. During pregnancy, approved homes will receive a link to make a nominal commitment payment on a puppy, and links will be sent out in the order applications were received. Please make this payment within 48 hours of the approval e-mail. YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in payment order by the first or second preference of the payment or as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices is available, you may elect another puppy from the litter. We ask that you make a choice within 24 hours of notification since there may be other families waiting for a chance to choose. You should review both the payment policies and pick policies on our website for any updates.  GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age. CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later. If you have questions about specific terms, please contact us prior to picking up your puppy.  TAKE BACK POLICY: We have a take-back provision in our contract. Any puppy from our home always has a home here, and will never experience the fear and burden of life at a shelter. Taking back an unaltered dog into our home poses a significant risk to our own dogs due to canine STDs and the possibility an unaltered dog could be pregnant. Sadly, many well-intentioned folks don't pay close enough attention and suddenly their barely-adolescent dog is pregnant by multiple studs of unknown heritage. Spay surgery while pregnant is exceedingly risky, and several canine STDs such as brucellosis can be transferred to humans, which poses an unacceptable risk to our family. Because we take cradle-to-grave "original home" responsibility for the puppies we created, puppies must be de-sexed unless you are under a guardian home agreement. REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our excellent family companions come with registration papers to the AKC. You are free to register your dog with the AKC.
