Buddy Check 3 Initiative

Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO), Cox, Mercy, and KY3 have established a program to help with the early detection of breast lumps.

The group is encouraging the women of the Ozarks to team up to remind each other to conduct monthly breast self-examinations, visit a physician annually for a clinical breast examination and get their yearly mammogram for those at risk.

Tune into KY3 to view a series of news stories and promotional announcements on breast cancer including, warning signs, treatments, as well as resources and support that is available.

How the program works:

BCFO has partnered with our local Health Care networks to provide our viewers free packets on how to properly conduct a self-examination.

On the 3rd of each month KY3 will air a series of promotional announcements telling viewers to call their buddy and remind them to do their self-exam and schedule their appointments.

This will sign you up for the program and will get you signed up to receive your buddy check 3 packet in the mail from our health care partners. The form will also sign you up for a monthly reminder e-mail from your friends at KY3.

KY3 will also produce follow up breast cancer stories on the 3rd of each month.
