Found Cat Report
  • Yolo County Animal Services FOUND Cat Report

Thank you for filling out this report. If you haven't already, please check out our information on Found Cats at https://www.friendsofycas.org/found-cat Please note that most healthy neighborhood cats are not lost at all and likely just live in the neighborhood. If the cat is otherwise healthy, it is often best to leave the cat be as the odds for this cat getting reunited with its family are more than 10 times better if the cat stays in its home neighborhood than if it comes to a shelter.

    • Kitten Extra Information
    • When we find a litter of kittens, our good-hearted instincts tell us to rush to the aid of these fragile felines. Thankfully, human intervention is typically not required. In fact, the best thing we can do is leave the kittens alone. Mom will likely return shortly, and it’s critical that the kittens remain in her care as she offers the best chance for survival.  If you find a litter of kittens and are extremely certain that they are orphaned, you can then step in and help by caring for the kittens until they’re old enough to find homes.
