What we do and what we aim for:
In Dependence on God, the Organisation Strives to:

    - Live as disciples of Jesus and bear witness to others.
    - Be attentive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit within our unique contexts.
    - Encourage members to:
    - Study the Bible,
    - Pray, and
    - Engage with a local church.
    - Foster inter-denominational relationships.
    - Maintain a Christian presence within educational institutions across South Africa.
    - Promote reconciliation and unity among Christian learners and students.
    - Encourage servant leadership that inspires and mobilises members to serve
    others.
    - Cultivate an atmosphere of humility and a willingness to learn.

    Commitment to UCSA
    - All staff, council members, and committee members are expected to fully endorse the aims of UCSA.

Relationship with Schools and Tertiary Institutions
    - As an organisation of learners and students, UCSA always strives to commit to avoiding matters related to religious dogma or potential denominational differences in its programmes, study materials, and activities.
    - UCSA asks churches to refrain from using UCSA activities to recruit members for their congregations.
    - UCSA promotes unity and encourages all parties to remain sensitive to differences in religious orientation.

    Relationship with the Organisation
    - You will ensure that all calendar events are consistent with the National UCSA calendar.
    - You will not publish information or share personal views on behalf of UCSA on any platform without prior approval from UCSA’s National Office.
    - You will not engage in fundraising or interact with potential donors without consent from UCSA’s National Office.
    - You will not enter into contractual agreements on behalf of UCSA without approval from UCSA’s National Office.

    Volunteer Personnel / Organisations
We trust that your involvement will bless the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. It is also a joy to welcome you as part of the UCSA family.

As UCSA is a Christian association reaching out to school-going youth from various church denominations, our focus remains on the central Biblical message, and to equip learners as disciples of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life. We emphasise areas such as:
    - Spiritual growth,
    - Practical discipleship,
    - World missions, and
    - Service, rooted in key Biblical teachings.

Familiarity with the UCSA Constitution (available on request at info@vcsv.co.za)
The UCSA Constitution forms the foundation for all association activities. It is essential to familiarise yourself with its contents, particularly the articles addressing volunteers.

    Avoidance of Doctrinal Differences
    - UCSA commits to steering clear of doctrinal aspects that may differ among participating churches in its programmes, study materials, and the presentation of activities.

    Expectations of Leadership Conduct
    - Leaders in UCSA activities are expected to avoid any actions or discussions that conflict with the association’s confessional basis.
    - Disputes or activities related to doctrinal differences must not arise during UCSA group discussions, activities, or meetings.

Examples of Doctrinal Differences to Avoid
Topics like the "extraordinary" gifts of the Holy Spirit, infant baptism, adult baptism, falling under the Spirit, the Toronto Blessing, and the casting out of demons are considered matters over which differences of opinion may arise. UCSA meetings are not the appropriate platform to address these topics.

    Handling Doctrinal Questions
If such matters emerge during a programme, they must be approached with the utmost care and sensitivity, respecting all Christian church denominations. UCSA encourages leaders to:
    - Emphasise that UCSA, as a Christian association, cannot address these issues during its meetings.
    - Refer learners with specific questions on mentioned topics, to their minister, pastor, or spiritual leader within their church community.

  • Affiliation Fees

The fee structure is as follows: 1. Per school R600 + R50 per teacher, badges to teachers; 2. Per school R600 per year + R50 per teacher + R20 per learner (badges to teachers and learners).
