Before you begin, please know that:

The Retreat is a vegan food and drink site only. You do not need to be vegan to work with us, but please respect our ethos and the animals that have come into our care, and have been saved from animal agriculture.

We are an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, mental health aware, and disability friendly, but our animal care volunteer roles are very hands on, so you must be able to muck out and lift wheelbarrows to help.

We do not accept applications from farmers or breeders who breed animals for the purposes of 'food', as this goes against our core values.

There is a number 2 bus which passes us on its way between Ashford and Tenterden, however, it runs only every 2 and a half hours.

Please note a minimum of 4 hours per week commitment is preferred. The only exception to this rule being if you are applying to the maintenance team, which can be ad hoc.
