  • 1. PYDF Mini World Dance Intensive

    Location: Philadelphia Dance Theatre, 7500 Germantown Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19119
    Notes: Experience a sampling of world dance and culture through PYDF's Mini Summer Intensive. This intensive is designed to broaden the dancer's knowledge of world dance genres, adding to their dance vocabulary and building an appreciation of dance from other countries. The weekend will conclude with a showing of each dance technique, allowing the students to showcase all that they have learned. This intensive is suitable for Dancers Ages 11-22 years of all levels.

    ​Notes: Non-RDA Dancer Tuition is $2,100 for the Full Program. On-campus housing & all meals are included in this tuition fee. RDA’s National Choreography Intensive exposes dancers to a professional company training atmosphere! Daily master classes enrich training in many genres of dance. Working with new choreographers provides tremendous opportunity for artistic growth and expression. Dancers are a valued part of the creative process, working to develop their own movement vocabulary and style while bringing choreographers’ visions to life. Daily performance showcases highlight the dancers’ work throughout the NCI. Dancers must be at least 13 years of age and studying dance at an intermediate to advanced level.

    Notes: Open to students aged 12-18. Philadelphia Dance Theatre’s Summer Intensive provides unparalleled training by our respected faculty and guest faculty. PDT’s proven curriculum will build your confidence as a dancer, enhance your technique and artistry, and expose you to various techniques presented by world-class faculty.As a summer student, you will experience a program that is focused on advancing your strength and technique in ballet with daily conditioning, technique, pointe, and additional styles including character, variations, contemporary, music, improv, partnering, jazz, and hip-hop. Summer intensive culminates in a performance on our outdoor stage.

    Notes: We have three levels of Dance Workshops. All require ballet background. We would like to offer one scholarship for each level: 10-12 yrs (Advanced Beginner) First Focus Dance Workshop 12-14 yrs Intermediate level Intensive Workshop 14-18 yrs Advanced level Intensive Workshop Scholarships are for one week. All levels are offered each week. Dancer may choose which week in July to attend.

    Notes: This is a Full Day Camp daily from 9:30-4. Dancers will take Stretch, Ballet, Dance History, Repertory, and Contemporary Class. Dancers will need to pack lunch, drinks, snacks, pencils and colored pencils.

Students who participate have the opportunity to take technique classes in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Improvisation, Conditioning, Street Jazz, Tap and Fusion all while working alongside the professional company. The week culminates in a showing of the work studied from the week!
