As a reflection of the Law School’s long-standing commitment to public service advancing our system of laws and government, Duquesne Kline Law’s McGinley Public Service Law Fellowships enable students who volunteer in a public service position during the summer to receive funding. Qualifying positions may be in all three branches of government and the work should involve legal and legislative issues.
PILA Fellowships enable students who volunteer with non-profit legal services organizations that provide direct legal services to underrepresented populations to receive funding.
Students must independently secure placements. Students must volunteer a minimum of 200 hours to receive a full award of $4,500. Students volunteering for fewer hours will have awards pro-rated. To qualify for funding, students may not receive academic credit or funding from another source for the volunteer hours.
