Scholarship Requirements

Scholarship recipient must be students of Iraqi descent.
Student must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Student must be attending or planning to attend the University of Arizona.
Scholarship is for undergraduate study only.
The scholarship amount for the 2022-23 academic year is $1,900.
Award is for a single academic year only
Payment will be made directly to the University of Arizona to be applied to the student’s account.
Should a recipient terminate his/her study or fall below the GPA requirement for any reason during the academic period covered by the scholarship, the amount of their scholarship will be refunded.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation for the recipient of this scholarship will be reviewed based on three factors - financial need, academic success, and short essay prompt response. All three areas will be equally scored and evaluated. The recipient with the highest score will receive the scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year.

Once the applicant is selected, they will need to provide proof of Iraq descendants and provide additional documentation to the foundation originator. The Hasanaat Center will support the selected candidate with this process.
