Submitting Your Movie Project to the 2025 BCSD Film Festival

Thank you for taking part in this year's BCSD Student Film Festival! Below are instructions for how to submit your film to us. Please read each question and complete the form with your project information.

The festival is open to all BCSD students in grades K-12.

Students may submit ONE film project per year. Students can take part in other films with other students, and be credited in those films, but students may only submit one film under their name.

Please make sure you have reviewed the content guidelines on the Film Festival website before submitting your project for the festival.

IMPORTANT: The student's parent or caregiver must complete this form. Consent is required for all students to participate in the 2025 BCSD Film Festival.

The student's parent or caregiver must provide their own email address so we can confirm this film submission and communicate with you about the film festival.

*PLEASE NOTE: We cannot send emails to students' beaconk12.org email address. Your project will not be able to be included in the program if we cannot reach you by email.

2 minutes (2:00) is the recommended length for the BCSD film festival. The hard limit for all projects this year is 2:15 including credits. If your project exceeds this length, we won't be able to include it in the program.

We use this information to create the printed program and on-screen information for each film that is shown at the BCSD Student Film Festival. Please read the instructions carefully.

Checklist - please make sure you are able to check every option before submitting the film*

The total length of the film project (including credits) is no more than 2 minutes 15 seconds (2:15).The video file is in .mov or .mp4 format.The film file was exported at a high resolution in your editing software. (Low-resolution films that are very pixelated might not be able to be included in the festival).The audio in the film is clear.The film adheres to the BCSD Student Film Festival content guidelines (check the Film Festival website if you are not sure).
Instructions for File Upload

We are using WeTransfer as the way for you to send us your film.

Here is a quick guide on how to create a transfer link for your project. Follow the steps below to send us your video file link.

1. In a separate browser window, go to WeTransfer.com on your phone or a computer.

2. Click on the blue Upload File icon and select your finished video file.

3. Click on the 3 dots ... at the bottom left and select 'Get transfer link'.

4. Copy the transfer, return to this form, and paste the transfer link for your film in the field below.

By pressing the SUBMIT button, the student's parent or caregiver is giving permission for the student to participate in the Film Festival. The student's parent or caregiver and the student agree that the film submitted may be shown without limitation, in perpetuity, through any means, and the student, parent or caregiver shall not receive any compensation for participating. The student's parent or caregiver and the student confirm that any and all material furnished for this program is their own or otherwise authorized for such use without obligation to the student, parent or caregiver, or any third party. The student's parent or caregiver and the student also agree to the use of the student's name, likeness, portrait or pictures, voice and information provided to the Film Festival. By pressing the SUBMIT button, the student's parent or caregiver and the student release The Foundation for Beacon Schools, Inc. and its agents from all liability that may arise from any and/or all claims by the student, parent or caregiver or any third party in connection with the student's participation in the program(s).
