A Wild Island exhibition raising awareness of Tasmania's threatened species
There are 721 plants, animals, insects & invertebrates on Tasmania's threatened species list. Yes, there are the iconic ones so many people know about, but there are numerous species that are tiny, little known or 'less attractive', which are no less important to our rich and varied eco- system. This new exhibition will expand our understanding of the range & diversity of threatened species and educate of their plight. It also aims to raise much needed funds to go towards their
It's a small thing we can do during an age of climate change, mass species decline and habitat loss.
We are inviting artists, photographers & creatives to contribute work fitting within the following guidelines:
MEDIUM: Artworks must be available as an edition of at least 25 prints- fine art or digital prints, photographs, textiles or other forms of reproduction. Photographs should be printed on a matte card stock.
SIZE: All works are to be a standard 40 X 40cm, for maximum impact of display.
COSTING: Each work will sell for $200 (inc. GST Proceeds from sales will be divided equally between the artist, a project or projects that protect threatened species, and Wild Island, to cover the costs of the exhibition. TIMING: The exhibition will run for a period of 4-6 weeks over winter- exact dates TBC.
APPLYING: Contributors may nominate up to 5 works, which will be selected at the discretion of the Wild Island Team. Please fill in the details below with suggested works.
