PTG Foundation Grant Guidelines
The Piano Technicians Guild Foundation supports the mission of the Piano Technicians Guild through charitable, historical, scientific, and educational programs. In keeping with these purposes, Foundation research grants are intended to support the efforts of individuals who are performing original research into the science and history of the piano.
The Foundation seeks projects that are focused on factors related to piano technology, in areas such as history, design, materials, creation of sound in a piano, etc. Any original research project that aims to advance the knowledge of the technical community and the public in these subject areas will be considered. Grants may be used to purchase equipment, to gain access to research materials, and for expenses directly related to research projects. Research with results related to contemporary technical work on pianos is preferred but not required.
Grants may be award for up to $5,000.00. The PTG Foundation executive committee will make the final decision to approve or deny a grant application, including the amount to be awarded.
