NJ TRANSIT’s NJT2030: A 10-Year Strategic Plan outlines a vision to transform the agency into an innovative, world-class public transportation provider that meets the travel needs of every customer. The vision is built on five over-arching goals, one of which is the need to “promote a sustainable future for our planet” with a short-term goal of producing its first ever Sustainability Plan by 2023. The sustainability planning process will align with leading industry standards and use stakeholder input to define goals, standards, and commitments to create a more sustainable future for the communities we serve, the natural environment, and our organization.

You have been identified as an important stakeholder able to provide valuable input as we explore the relative importance of sustainability issues. This sustainability survey includes four questions asking for your thoughts on the relative importance of a wide variety of sustainability issues. We understand that you are not a subject matter expert on each topic. We simply ask that you share your perspective on the sustainability issues that most influence your perception of NJ TRANSIT’s performance based on your own experience.
