IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY:
During their Summer 2026 Meeting, the ACOEM Board of Directors made a decision to waive the standard policy that allows for resolutions to be submitted four (4) weeks prior to the meeting, and instead changed the submission deadline to be eight (8) weeks prior to the Fall 2026 House of Delegates Meeting.
If a resolution is considered urgent and cannot be submitted prior to the September 12 deadline, please contact the House Officers and Adam Walaszek to inform them and confirm if a later submission is permissible.
Resolutions to be considered at the Fall 2026 House of Delegates on Saturday, November 7 (9:00 am - 12:30 pm CT) Meeting must be submited no later than Saturday, September 12, 2026 (5:00 pm CT).

- Whereas Clauses are informational and used to provide context and supporting information for a resolution.
- Resolved Clauses are the requested actions of a resolution. They should all collectively support the underlying goal of a resolution, and it is best to not have competing resolved clauses (e.g., those that request actions that aim to achieve different objectives beyond the primary goal of the resolution). It is generally best to limit resolved clauses to what is absolutely necessary to achieve the primary goal of the resolution. The more resolved claues that are included, the more difficult it becomes to understand the ultimate goal of the resolution.
- Given that many recent resolutions have centered around advocacy, it is important to note that ACOEM is a small organization with limited resources, so resolved claues should be realistic in terms of what is being asked of the College to support the request actions of a resolution. ACOEM does not have the resources to support state-level advocacy efforts, or provide Component Societies with the resources to pursue their own state or regional advocacy efforts. ACOEM has a very limited scope of what it aims to achieve through its own advocacy efforts at the federal level.
- When planning to submit a resolution on an advocacy topic, it is suggested that you contact ACOEM leadership/staff to see what is feasible in terms of financial or staff support, and ask if ACOEM is already working on your planned topic through its advocacy efforts at the federal level, or if ACOEM's Council on Government Affairs (COGA) has already discussed it and/or taken action on it.
