Board Member Role Description:
● I will interpret BFCTT’s work and values to the community and club members and represent the organization and act as a spokesperson.
● I will disclose any conflict of interest to the President.
● I will attend at least 75% of board meetings, committee meetings (when appropriate) and club events.
● I will actively participate in one or more fundraising activities per year.
● I will act in the best interests of BFCTT and excuse myself from any discussions and votes where I have a conflict of interest. I will make decisions with the best interest of the club in mind and not use the position to personally benefit my child/children.
● I will stay informed about what is going on with BFCTT. I will ask questions and request information as needed. I will participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and board matters.
● I will work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners towards achieving our goals.
● I will uphold the integrity of the board with my actions both within and outside of my role as a BFCT board member.
● I understand as a member of a nonprofit board of directors I have a fiduciary duty to keep private certain information learned in the course of board service.
● I understand and agree that all documents, files and information obtained, read, received or created during the course of my tenure as a board member for BFCTT are the sole property of Bend Timbers and Thorns and I will not share or disseminate any information outside the board or organization without permission of the Executive Committee.
● I understand and agree that passing the OYSA background check and completing the online SafeSport training annually is a requirement and condition to maintain my seat on the board.
