2025 Parade Theme: Pumpkinfest Vibes since 1984 Come back to the 80's with us and celebrate where it all began!
Due to the growing size of the Pumpkinfest Parade, the City of South Lyon has asked the Pumpkinfest Board to initiate the following changes:

1) Pumpkinfest Parade entries are limited to 60 entries.

2) Only ONE (1) vehicle is allowed per entry. (Truck+trailer=1)

3) There is to be NO throwing of candy or other objects from any parade participant. Candy can be dropped in front of the viewers or handed directly to them. Throwing of candy or other objects is in direct violation of City ordinance Section 58-81 and 58-82 which states "It shall be unlawful for any person to wrongfully throw or propel any snowball, missile or object toward/from any person and/or moving motor vehicle." Failure to comply with any part of these ordinances can result in removal from the Pumpkinfest Parade and/or ticketing from local law enforecment.

If you are found in violation of these above ordinances, you or your organization will no longer be allowed to participate in future Pumpkinfest Parades and/or events.

Parade participants who wish to hand out candy etc.. may walk on either side of their entry, close to the curb; ensuring no spectators will enter the street to obtain candy or other objects.

4) Parents/guardians are responsible for their minors' behavior. Minors are not to be left unattended. There is to be absolutely NO spectators in the street during the parade.

5) The committe reserves the right to reject any entry that it considers inappropriate, not in good taste, or not in the best interest of the parade.

6) Those in charge of animals are rsponsible for cleaning up after them.

7) Alcohol beverages are not allowed in the staging area, on the float or during the parade.

Walkers, Bands & Dance Groups: Please list the total # of people in your group. Include adult staff, boosters, Directors, teachers or Assistants.
Dancers are reminded: routines must continue to move forward. Stopping for exhibition is prohibited. THE PARADE MUST ALWAYS BE MOVING FORWARD.
Bikes,Vehicles & Floats: Describe your entry. Include: Make, Model & Year and color (Trucks, include length, floats include total length w/vehicle pulling the float).
Animals: Please list species and how many will be attending. For Horses, include number of horses and riders.
All animals must have a custodial walker to clean up after them or be otherwise contained.
Participation in the Pumpkinfest Parade is up to the discretion of the South Lyon Pumpkinfest Parade Committee and the Pumpkinfest Board.

Submitting an application DOES NOT guarantee participation in this year's parade. Confirmation emails will be sent upon selection, at the beginning of September.
By submitting this application the applicant and any individual respresenting them agrees to abide by the Rules and Policies for Pumpkinfest Parade exhibitors. They agree that the City of South Lyon and the South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest's Executive Committee, shall not be held liable for any injuries, damage, loss of property or inventory of any kind. His/Her and their heirs, administrators, successors and representative or any other person or organization which may follow them shall hold the South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest harmless to any event or issue. Furthermore, applicants hereby, fully and forever release The City of South Lyon and The South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest's Committee and its volunteers from any and all causes of action, claims or demands of any nature, whatsoever arising out of this event. Furthermore, the applicant hereby confirms that he/she has the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of their business or organization. The applicant also agrees that he/she has read and understands the policy of this application and agrees that he/she and any individual representing their organization will abide by it’s terms herein.
