- Hold a Powerboat Licence
- Carry applicable safety equipment onboard
- Maintain a listening watch on the VHF radio channel nominated by the race committee
- Operate under the direction of the Organising Authority and Race Officer in the event of an emergency
- Abide by the Racing Rules of Sailing, Australian Sailing Sports Integrity & Safety Code Policies
- Maintain a 100-metre distance from all boats and competitors during racing, unless directed by the race committee.
- Berth in the correct areas for support boat vessels (listed in the visitor guide).
By registering all support boat operators agree to abide by instructions given by the race committee, regatta officials, the registration form, Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions in regards to coaching and support. Support boat operators are cautioned that within the Racing Rules of Sailing misconduct by a support vessel can result in the sailors they are supporting being penalised.
Penalties may apply to competitors that are associated with a support vessel that breaches any of the above conditions.
