  • Research is an integral part of the social sciences. It broadens our current knowledge and understanding of the social world and offers future scholars a stable foundation to build upon.

  • In order to be considered for the Undergraduate Research Award presented at the Gala, the following criteria must be satisfied:

    1. Must be pursuing a primary major within the College of Social Science
    2. Maintain a GPA at or above 3.25
    3. Must be of junior (56-87 credits) or senior (88 or more credits) standing
    4. Submit this online application containing a Letter of Motivation, current resume, and contact information for one reference

  • Letter of Motivation

    To best describe your undergraduate research, please submit a Letter of Motivation describing an experience, or experiences, occurring in Spring 2024 to present that has/have influenced your life.

    Describe what event(s) you participated in and the impact it had on the people involved. Share why you chose to participate in this research and the impact it had on the research community and you personally.

    In addition, please include how it has effected your future plans. Be specific and descriptive.

    Responses are limited to two pages double-spaced 12pt font.
