YFU USA LC Application
  • YFU USA Local Coordinator Application

Local Coordinators (LCs) promote Youth For Understanding USA’s (YFU USA) mission of advancing intercultural understanding, life-long learning, global competencies, mutual respect, and social responsibility through transformational educational exchanges for generations of youth, families, and communities.

LCs achieve this by recruiting host families from within their communities (or up to 100 miles away per YFU USA best practice standards) and supporting those students and families during the exchange year by ensuring orientation attendance, monthly contact reports, SEE visits, and other benchmarks.

Please note that the position of Local Coordinator (LC) with YFU is classified as a W9 freelance contractor role. It's essential to understand that this role is not equivalent to part-time or full-time employment under W2 status and is not designed to serve as a primary source of income. LCs can earn up to $1250 per student placed and supported throughout the year. Our LCs generate average supplemental income ranging from $1000 to $20,000 annually.
