The Colorado Restaurant Foundation, in partnership with Foundation Scholarship Donors, awards scholarships to qualified students in high school ProStart programs. Applicants must have demonstrated strong interest in the foodservice/hospitality industry as evidenced through documentable work experience in the industry.
Eligibility Criteria:
Note: Any applications that do not meet the following criteria or are not legible will be automatically disqualified.
- Be a senior enrolled in the ProStart® program at your high school or in your school district.
- Be accepted into an approved postsecondary program, starting in the Fall 2022 term
- Have some documented industry-related work experience
Please Submit:
- Complete application: electronically submit this form, indicating "N/A" (not applicable) when appropriate.
- An official high school transcript sent directly from high school to our offices.
- A resume.
- Documentation of industry-related work experience.
- Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a current or previous employer. Teacher recommendations are also welcome.
- A "Letter of Intent" stating that you are enrolled/enrolling in an accredited foodservice/hospitality related program for a minimum of 9 credit hours (e.g. a copy of your college acceptance letter)

Judges will score the following:
- Grade point average.
- Industry-related work experience and/or hospitality-related coursework.
- Contents of the letters of recommendation.
- Essay questions on application (questions should be answered carefully and clearly in essay format).
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Deadline, award announcement and payment timeline:
- Application Deadline: April 15th, 2022 – application electronically submitted and transcripts must be postmarked. No exceptions.
- Scholarship Gala – award recipients will be formally announced at the annual Colorado Restaurant Foundation Scholarship Gala in May (date TBD). Additional details will be provided at the time of award notification, but please make note of this date on your calendar when it is announced. Your attendance at this event is mandatory if you are a scholorship recipient.
- Funds will be disbursed in two equal payments: the first half in Fall 2022, and the second half in Spring 2023 upon verification of your continued enrollment in a qualified program.
