  • Dear Senator Draheim,

    My name is , I am a resident of, and I am asking you to schedule a hearing for the Bring it Home, Minnesota bill in the Senate Housing Committee. The bill is SF 333 sponsored by Sen. Dziedzic. The House Housing Committee has heard its companion, HF40 twice this biennium.

    Housing is an important issue to me because   

    As you heard in a constituent meeting last year, there are 550,000 Minnesotans - from every corner of the state - who are at risk of losing their home every month because the rent is too high. Only 1-in-4 Minnesotans who qualify for a rent voucher receive one because the voucher program is vastly underfunded, which disproportionately affects people of color.

    Rent assistance is a proven tool to help reduce homelessness and housing instability. When families can afford their rent they can think about the future, including homeownership.
