2025 Scholarship Application Form

The Victoria Rotary Club is proud to offer individual $1,000 college scholarships for deserving students residing in Victoria County who will graduate high school in May 2025.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen from among applicants who show exceptional character and qualify as judged by grades, school service, extra-curricular activities, and a written essay. The main focus is demonstration of "service above self."

Victoria Rotarians work year-round to raise money for a variety of community betterment projects, including this scholarship, which we consider to be one of our highlights of the Rotary year.

Children, grandchildren, and stepchildren of current Victoria Rotary Club members are not eligible for scholarships.

HOW TO APPLY:

Complete the application form (attached). Please submit original saved file.
Have a school counselor, teacher, or youth leader (non-family member) complete the evaluation form (attached). This can be scanned.
Prepare an essay on how you have fulfilled the Rotary Creed of "Service Above Self" and how you plan to carry this out in the future. The essay should be 400-500 words, double-spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman, with 1-inch margins.
Submit all above PLUS an official transcript to vrcscholarship@gmail.com by the date indicated on the website.

This evaluation is to be completed by a non-family member (teacher, youth, leader, employer, etc.) who has direct knowledge of the applicant's skills, abilities, and college career/plans.

Provide college assessment test scores by listing the test name, test date, and score (for instance: SAT, December 2021, 1100). College assessments include ACT, SAT, TSIA.

Provide your activities list, including any community service, employment, awards, extracurricular activities, church involvement, interests, hobbies, leadership experiences, etc.

If you participated in the Rotary Early Act First Knight (EAFK) Program, please list: your elementary school, year(s), and for which virtues you were knighted.

Explain any special circumstances of extraordinary expenses (i.e. divorce, parenthood, unemployment) that you would like to have considered.

Once you have submitted this application you will need to submit all other required attachments and attachments via email to vrcscholarship@gmail.com according to the due date/guidelines on the webpage.
