The Role of the Community and Service Outreach Coordinator
The Community and Service Outreach Coordinator will work with the Director of Campus Ministry to create programs and events oriented towards serving people in need in the city of Toronto - the homeless, the elderly, the isolated, among others.
This is an opportunity to creatively connect the students with people in precarious circumstances through organizing events such as street patrol, volunteering with charitable organizations, and facilitating discussion groups on the importance of service and community outreach on campus.
Other responsibilities include:
1. Outreach and foster student relationships with all St. Michael’s community members.
2. Helping students transition to university and integrate into the community.
3. Attending weekly Campus Ministry team meetings.
4. Supporting the student life initiatives of other USMC partners (e.g. Campus Life, Alumni Affairs, Student Societies, Principal’s Office, etc.) and collaborating on these initiatives when possible.
5. Ensuring all USMC rules and policies are upheld when organizing student events (e.g. Conferences, Food Services, etc.)
