What is a community partner?
Community partners for the MCDD 2024 are professionals from the private sector, government, healthcare, and education–including kupuna–who support and collaborate with high school student participants for our interactive sessions. Community partners do not have to prepare for the sessions or run them. Roadmap student interns from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa will facilitate each session. We’re expecting over one hundred multilingual graduating seniors from public high schools across the state for a hands-on, problem-solving-based experience. The synergistic approach to our sessions will give people of all ages chances to learn and grow as they meet and work together.
Once again, you do not have to be multilingual. If you consider yourself an advocate for multilingual abilities in our state, you can be a terrific community partner. Not only will you be able to help mentor students in a hands-on setting, but you’ll meet promising future members of Hawaii’s multilingual workforce! It’s 100% free. We’ll even provide a parking pass for you in the lower campus parking structure and a complimentary lunch. On us!
