It is understood that the tangible personal property item(s), purchased under this certificate, listed on "Types of Items Purchased for Resale", will be resold in the regular course of business operations. In the event of property being used for any purpose other than retention, demonstration or display while holding for sale in the regular course of business, use tax will be owed based on each item's purchase price or as otherwise provided by law. The buyer acknowledges that it is solely responsible for purchasing within the category listed above. The buyer further acknowledges that misuse of the resale privilege for personal gain or to evade the payment of tax is liable for each purchase and subjects the buyer to a penalty of 50 percent of the tax due, in addition to the tax, interest, and any other penalties imposed by state law.
