• Introduction

We've enjoyed meeting with many in the Waverley community already, but Covid-19 and all the barriers it raises to prevent us meeting and talking together means we are hoping you will give us your feedback online. If this form isn't your preferred way of communicating, please email us at CDUnit@stdc.govt.nz or phone us on 0800 111 323. Thank you. Before we begin, we are welcoming comments about the Waverley Town Revitalisation Plan from people who live in Waverley. Comments from people who reside in other areas may be considered based on relevance and consistency with themes from the Waverley Community.
  • The South Taranaki District Council is collecting your name and address information to ensure the comments are from people based in and around Waverley.  This information will be used for the gathering feedback and opinions about the Waverley Town Revitalisation Plans and once the project is completed, will be destroyed.   If you do not provide your contact details your comments will not be included in the feedback.  You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at privacyofficer@stdc.govt.nz, or 0800 111 323.

  • The red dashed outline shows the area intended to be included in this phase of the Waverley Revitalisation Plan.  However, money has also been budgeted for a town belt walkway and a Waverely-Beach connection.

Thinking about this section of Waverley, what do you think could be done to enhance this area.

Some of the options could be:

  • Please note:  the photos above are simply to motivate your creative thinking process.  These items will not necessarily be available or cost effective - but as you consider your preferences, think about styles, colours, comfort and issues such as ease for maintenance, durability for Taranaki weather conditions, ease for cleaning and removing tagging etc

  • Now think about the other suggestions for Waverley such as the connection to the beach or the town belt walkway (yellow outline on the map included below).  Other areas of focus could be Gully Park, Aotea Park the library forecourt or how Waverley could look as travellers approach the township.  While these are larger projects likely to take more preparation, the desired look and feel is important to get right, from the start.

With a renewed emphasis on walking and cycling, exercise and wellbeing what are your thoughts on these as priorities?

  • Thank you for your time and contributing ideas which will be put into the mix with the other community feedback we have received.  We hope to make a start very soon and look forward to your ongoing comments and constructive suggestions.
