    Join us and discover the potential of arts integration through all curricular areas while building a network of education colleagues and cultural partners such as museums, science centers, galleries, performing arts centers, cinema arts, and multidisciplinary artists. 


    The Patchogue Arts Council PEACE (Partners in Education, Arts, & Community Empowerment) is a 1.8 million dollar project funded by the US Department of Education which includes generous support for making a difference in your school by providing educators, teaching artists and cultural partners the opportunity to attend the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Arts Integration Institute. We are seeking a team of educators and cultural partners to design and implement projects that will increase student college, career, and civic readiness through the arts?


    This unique and fully funded community of practice includes:

    • Attendance at the Summer Institute June 28th & 29th, 2022
    • Monthly online gatherings to share best practices
    • Individualized coaching/mentoring as needed
    • Monthly “PEACE Nights Out” –VIP invitations to cultural gatherings, receptions and concerts 
    • Funding for an arts-based project with your students
    • Stipends and CTLE credit for selected educators
    • Certificate of completion for all participants
    • Complimentary membership to the Museum of Contemporary Art LI 
    • Teaching materials for classroom use
    • Participation in culminating Arts Conference for schools and community
      The PEACE project is the only funded Assistance in Arts Education (AAE) US Department of Education grant project on Long Island. If you would like to become part of this ground-breaking, inspirational, education changing project please complete this online application.

    The PEACE project is committed to shaping a diverse, inclusive, and equitable art education community. We strive to create a welcoming and affirming environment where all individuals feel a sense of belonging.     The 2022 project year is limited to 15 educators and 15 teaching artists / cultural partners (one representative from a cultural partner).

      • 8-10 one-hour meetings from September 2022-June 2023
      • Teaching artist or cultural partner experience in your school
      • Educators who work across academic disciplines, not only in the arts
      • Balance of educators from schools with diverse socio-economic needs
      • Enthusiasm for social justice and innovative learning
      • Artists and cultural partners who are familiar with underrepresented communities
      • A balance of artists and cultural partners across disciplines
      • Availability to mentor Student Ambassadors

      *If you are selected to take part in the institute, you will be asked to complete a feedback form to share your thoughts and opinions of the experience.
