  • LVA Academy Senior Awards Eligibility Form: Part 2 of 2

  • The Academy of LVA Senior Awards

    Students in 12th grade who enrolled in either a Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 Academy of LVA class may be considered for one of the four annual Awards which are presented at the Opening Reception for the Academy of LVA Student Exhibition (5:30-7pm, May 10, 2024).

    The Vision Award

    Recognizes an LVA Senior with remarkable potential for success in post-secondary art study with a $500 scholarship.

    The Community Award

    Recognizes an LVA Senior whose generous encouragement of LVA peers and commitment to service activities consistently enrich others. (Recipient receives a cash award.)

    The LVA Portfolio Award

    Recognizes an LVA Senior with a body of work that is thematically consistent, technically accomplished, and professionally presented. (Recipient receives a cash award.)

     The LVA Creativity Award

    Recognizes an LVA Senior with an adventurous spirit of artistic experimentation with regard to materials, content, style, and/or scale. (Recipient receives a cash award.)

     

    Eligibility Requirements

    Check list:

    ____ To be considered for an Award, please submit 6-8 high resolution images of your artwork made in an LVA class or eleswhere within the past two years. (High resolution means 1000-1500 pixels in the shortest dimension.) The filename for each work should include the student's first and last name and a sequential number, following this format: student_name_001.jpg. It is important to include the leading zeroes before the file number to help with sorting. Filetypes accepted include .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .pdf.

    ____ Please also submit a text document titled *Student Name* Image List with a numerical entry for each piece, like this:                                                           

    1. Title of Artwork, date, medium, location where it was made (i.e., day school, LVA class, student's free time, other)

    ____ Finally, please also submit a "headshot" photo of the student looking at the camera. This can be taken with a smartphone. Filetypes accepted include .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .pdf.
