Eligibility
Open to Boys and Girls, ages 9-19.
All participants (“playmakers”) must complete a PAVEDOT Registration form.
1. Divisions
a. Each playmaker must choose an age group to compete in (no playing down). Participants may compete in multiple groups but cannot play down.
b. Age divisions:
• JRs. (9-11)
• Seniors (12-14)
• Old heads (15-18)
2. Field & Game Setup
a. Field dimensions: 150 ft (50 yds) long, 75 ft (25 yds) wide, with 3-yd end zones.
b. The first ball is decided by a 20-yd race. Each team selects a racer. If the race is a tie, new racers must be chosen.
c. Game ends when:
A team scores 3 points with a 2-point lead, or
The 5-minute clock expires. If tied at 5 minutes, a new 20-yd race will decide the winner.
d. Winning team stays on the field and plays the next 5-man team.
All wins must be reported to the score table.
The team with the most wins for the day is crowned “Kings of the Field.”
e. Losing teams go to the waiting pool. If a new team forms by adding players, the new team name must be reported before playing.
3. Game Rules
a. Ball starts at the 3-yd line.
b. If the offensive player’s flag is pulled in the end zone, it’s a turnover. No points are awarded, and the ball starts at the opposite 3-yd line.
c. "Get Back Rule": If a receiver is offside at the start of the play, they can reset by touching the line of scrimmage before running their route.
d. Line of scrimmage must be marked with a cone. The QB sets the cone before play (no center snaps).
e. Offense has 4 downs to:
Reach midfield, and then
Score.
f. All passes must cross the line of scrimmage. After completion, laterals are allowed.
No handoffs: Results in a dead ball and loss of down.
No flag guarding: Results in a 5-yd penalty from the spot of the foul.
4. Defense Rules
a. Pass Interference: Results in a 1st down and 10-yd penalty.
b. Defense can rush the QB once per set of downs (2 rushes max per series).
Once the QB is rushed, they can run the ball.
Illegal rushing results in a 5-yd penalty and replay of down (if accepted).
c. Interceptions can be returned.
Notable Changes for Improved Gameplay
Overtime is sudden death, with the first ball decided by a 20-yd race.
Clock stops on changes of possession (5-minute games).
All playmakers must sign the “white board” to reserve the next game. If your name or team isn’t listed, you cannot take the field.
