Statement of Consent

You must be 18 - 24 years of age and a resident of the United States to participate in this study. You do NOT need to have any previous knowledge about synesthesia or synesthetes.
This study requires both synesthete AND non-synesthete participants. You will complete a survey that will determine if you have synesthesia (approx. 30 minutes), and may be asked additional questions about your experiences. Then, you will be given 3 days to freely study a list of pseudo-vocabulary terms (made-up words). After the 3 days, you will be given an exam on the terms (approx. 10 minutes). There may be additional time where you must wait for further instructions to be sent to your email. Your participation in the study should not interfere with your daily life.
Your personal information will remain confidential and will not be linked personally to your results. You are not obligated to answer every question. You may stop participating in this study at any time.
