Why we ask for all this info?
We appreciate you taking time to provide us with the information requested in this form. If a horse will be ridden by multiple people for multiple purposes, rarely will one horse meet everyone's needs and expectations. For everyone's safety and happiness, it is important to prioritize. Once we receive your form, we will contact you to discuss your questions, pricing, and how to make a deposit on your horse.
Our priority is to match horses with appropriate people. We do not post prices on the website because it influences choice. Our prices range from $1,200 to $10,000 which partially remunerates our investments in the breeding, raising, vetting, feeding and other expenses related to these horses' care. For most of us, horses are a hobby, not a business. Your purchase will be a much appreciated contribution to the efforts and expenses involved in making this horse available to you. The purchase price of your horse will be the least of your expenses as you take on the responsibility of horse ownership. Therefore, it is important to budget. Some of these horses are in their upper teens or early twenties "going on twelve years old" in terms of their conditioning and general health. We anticipate they have many good, productive years ahead of them. Most were born and raised on the ranch and have been used here all their lives for rounding up cattle, ranch work, and trail rides of five to ten miles a day, enough to keep them in shape but not wear them out. We base our assessments on our experience with them taking riders of various backgrounds and experience levels on a variety of rides but we think it is important that you come and try them out, and while availability lasts, if you find you match, we'll pay half your clinic fee to join Sagebrush Sara's Trail Confidence Clinic on Sept 2-3, 2023.
