Diabadass Volunteer Accelerator Interview Questionnaire Form
  • We are launching a Diabadass YouTube Channel.

Join the first paid volunteer accelerator group of 5-10 advocates and allies coming together for a 9-week "sprint" of collaboration and learning.

We'll be breaking down our time into four Zoom calls (encouraged but not mandatory); eight work weeks to focus on launching the YouTube channel; and two weeks of celebration & feedback.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about film and media from our founder, Erik Douds. He has published film and photography advocacy projects with major environmental non-profits, the world’s largest outdoor brands, and landed cover photos for industry magazines.

Completing this form will streamline our coordination going forward.

Accepted applicants will be compensated $100+ for their time, talent, and voice. That's $16.50+ per hour based on our Zoom meetings (only). If successful, we'll grow the budget for the next Diabadass group.

Applications are due Wednesday, March 30th, 2022 with rolling acceptance.

  • Diabadass is a member-supported education platform bringing life-lessons from diabetes leaders to global audiences.

Our dedication to authentic storytelling is rooted in our founder's family legacy of being directly impacted by insulin-dependent diabetes. Erik's grandfather "Chuck" Douds was diagnosed in the 1940s and Erik lives with type 1 diabetes for 16+ years.

People with disabilities have been overlooked. Inside and beyond the doctor's office, we are faced with obstacles that limit our dreams. There are threats to our pursuit of happiness - in the realest sense by America's insulin crisis. We have brothers and sisters who are not here today because our story has not reached the hearts of those in power to enact change.

Yet, the invisible bond of diabetes brings us together like super glue.

Our mantra is simple here at Diabadass: go anywhere. do anything.

This YouTube launch builds upon the success of Erik Douds' advocacy projects using film and photography. Erik's digital and print work has been featured on the cover of Adventure Cyclist magazine, national presentations at 13+ REI locations, advertisements by Pearl iZUMi featured in Outside Magazine, and even in Indian newspapers.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our founder, Erik Douds, at hello@diabadass.com
