The Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) is pleased to announce the establishment of Black Knight’s Ernst Scholarship Award in grateful appreciation to the late Carl Ernst for his contributions to PRIA and the extended property records industry, along with Black Knight, for its generosity in funding the bi-annual scholarships.
Black Knight Ernst Scholarship Awards
The Scholarship Awards include the following:
One full year of PRIA Membership – one for government and one for business
Conference Registration and a travel allotment for:
o PRIA Annual Conference (August 2022) o PRIA Winter Symposium (February 2023)
The value of these awards is $2,000 for each scholarship.
Nominee Eligibility
Black Knight’s Ernst Scholarship Award program will be comprised of two individual awards each year, one for government and one for business. The awards will be presented prior to PRIA’s Annual Conference and will offer a full year of membership. Each scholarship recipient will be selected based on outstanding contributions to the property records industry and will be deemed eligible in one or more of the following ways:

Recipients are not currently PRIA Members.

Recipients have demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in their chosen field.

Recipients have demonstrated exceptional service in local, state or national affairs.

Recipients have demonstrated exceptional service consistent with the mission and continued excellence of PRIA.
Nominee Applications
The nominee's accomplishments for each category should be listed on the application form and a resume or bio should be included. Additional supporting material (press releases, awards, honors, etc may be submitted and will be considered.
Applications must be received at least six weeks prior to the new membership year:
June 15 is the deadline for the 2022-23 Ernst Scholarship, which will be awarded on/about July 15.
Selection Process
The nominee applications will be reviewed by the Black Knight’s Ernst Scholarship Selection Committee, which is comprised of the PRIA Officers, PRIA Immediate Past President, and a representative from Black Knight. The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Selection Committee. If it is deemed that no viable applications have been received, the Selection Committee reserves the right not to award that year’s scholarships. In that case, Black Knight would not provide funding for the scholarship(s).
The Scholarship Fund
Black Knight's Ernst Scholarship Fund will be administered by the PRIA Board.
