FLCCIM Chapter Central District Mentorship Application

Have you ever thought to yourself - "I really enjoy what I do for a living, but it would be great to have a mentor who could help me network and find answers to tough questions"?

If the answer is "yes", you might want to consider the FLCCIM Central District Mentorship Program for calendar year 2024.

You will be paired with a member of your local CCIM District who has completed their CCIM designation. The Designees will work with you one on one to clarify your career goals, consider career paths and improve your professional knowledge. In addition, we will also have bi-monthly "Group Discussion" video conference meetings where all of the Mentee’s will gather to share meaningful takeaways from each meeting with their respective Mentors. This will foster fellowship and networking to build relationships that should help take you and your business to the next level.

Past annual programs included sessions with top professionals in the Central Florida market including Craig Ustler, CCIM of Ustler Development, Blaine Strickland, CCIM of HBS Resources, Robin Webb, CCIM of Commercial America, and John Crossman, CCIM of CrossMarc Services, just to name a few.

This is a great opportunity to learn from industry’s top producers as well as develop a network of peers who will attend programs with you throughout the program.

Requirements to become a Mentee are:

Work in commercial real estate
Completed CI Intro and/or CI 101 course or agree to register for one or more of these classes in 2024
Be a member of your local CCIM District
Attend monthly meetings and participate in your local CCIM District activities

We are only accepting 5-10 Mentees into this year’s program. The tuition for the program is $100 which covers the cost of your mentoring materials, and the tuition payment directly benefits your local CCIM District. You also need to be a current member of your local CCIM District.

What CCIM Committees are you interested in participating in?

The following are the program dates for 2024. You will alternate monthly between group call/discussion and one-on-one meetings with your mentor.

Please ensure that you are available to commit to 100% of the program dates. The success of the program relies heavily on the full participation of the Mentees.

Monthly Group Meeting and Discussion: Mentees will be required to report at each Group Class meeting on what they learned during the prior month discussion with their Mentor.

April – Orientation/Meet your Mentor
May – Share with group what you learned from your Mentor about business development when you met last month. Also ask that all Mentees attend a Central District BOD call within the next 2 months.
June – Group discussion around CCIM – Value of being involved with your local District & Chapter, networking opportunities, why you should volunteer.
July - CCIM Expert Panel will share their insights on maximizing success in your CRE career. Q&A as well so bring your questions!
August –Networking celebration to be held at the CCIM Summer Meetings Session.
September – Wrap up meeting for the year. Discuss what you learned from the Mentorship Program and share some action steps you will take based on what you learned.

Monthly Meet with your Mentors One-on-One (The Mentee is responsible for setting up a day and time to meet with respective Mentors. These meetings can take place via phone, video call, or in person depending on schedules and comfort level.)

April – Connect and meet with your Mentor. Ask your Mentor about best practices for developing new business & getting established in CRE.
May – Talk to your mentor about their path to earning the pin and the value of being involved in the CCIM organization.
June – Discuss a CRE deal/a day in the life of your Mentor.
July – Discuss creating action plans and executing on your plan in commercial real estate with your Mentor.
August – No formal assignment but talk to your Mentor and try to have them join us for the networking celebration during the CCIM Summer Meetings Session.

Absence of 2 consecutive meetings constitute an automatic resignation to the program.

If accepted to the CCIM Mentorship Program, I fully commit to attending all the program dates outlined here.
