ARTS ON TERRY
SUNDAY, September 17, 2023 FROM 1:00 - 6:00 PM
Patchogue Arts Council is accepting submissions from artists interested in participating in its upcoming Arts on Terry, a contemporary art street fair on September 17, 2023, from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. Arts on Terry will take place on Terry Street and Taylor Lane adjacent to the Artspace building in Patchogue.
PAC Paint Showdown (PACPS) @ AOT 2023
Inspired by national painting competitions and drawing events that take place in large public venues, we have invited one of our returning street painters, Amanda Reilly to join us as our guest curator & MC for the second PACPS event. With the goal of promoting creativity & spontaneous collaboration through public art to the exciting atmosphere of the street art painting pavilion, this event will create a fun and competitive collaboration between a selection of artists curated from an open call and paired in sets of 2 artists vs 2 artists. Artists are paired by our curator and will work together against the other team of artists on a large-scale panel. Viewers will vote for their favorite completed collaborative painting and a stipend will be awarded to all participating artists. A special prize package will be given to our two winning artists!
A specific set of rules will be set in place. Ex. Only black and white can be used and artists will have only 2.5 hours to create their large-scale collaborative works.
The curator will work to pair artists that are not from the same area and have complimentary styles.
Arts on Terry is part of the Patchogue Arts Council’s PAC P.O.V. Festival Season.
PAC P.O.V. 2023
Boundless horizons formed from infinite centers.
Every person has a unique set of life experiences affecting the way they look at the world. Some take their experiences and turn them into unique expressions that we call art. Art, then, is a unique expression from a distinct point of view. These works of art are given to a world of individual viewers whose interpretations are based on their unique experiences. A myriad of artworks and an infinite number of interpretations.
For 2023 PAC-MoCA L.I. will explore through events, open calls, and curated exhibitions the infinite possibilities of what art can be.
